Happy Saturday! This is our first post so hopefully we can use this to talk about things we love (baking, brew, Bauer) and keep our friends and family up to date with what's going on in the Southwest.
Anyways, we've had a crazy week after our trip to Richmond/D.C. last weekend. Great times with Ronald and Dad, including some Casa Grande, Cracker Barrel, Legends Brewery, Smithsonian Museum, National Archives, and a Caps game (Caps won!) to top it all off.
Work and school were both pretty hectic and Friday was a welcome respite. We went to an all-you-can-eat sushi with our friends Tom and Sally - needless to say Scott ate all he could and Griffin was a darn good sport about it all despite her aversion to raw fish. The sushi was delicious but it gave Scott crazy dreams all night.
While all our relatives on the east coast deal with snow and ice today, it's 60 degrees and sunny here in the desert. We opened all the windows and cranked up some music to do some pre-spring cleaning this afternoon and finally clean up the mess in the garage left over from our camping trip 2 weeks ago. Tonight is date night with some of G's homemade pasta (with North Carolina Country Ham) and a movie (everyone, including people I thought would hate it, seems to love Avatar so maybe we'll fold and check that out). We'll probably spring for the 3-D version just to spice things up.
I'm planning on running a half marathon in San Diego this June so tomorrow he's meeting up with his training partner Erik. After that it will be cleaning day 2 and the rest is up in the air - potential baking from the misses if we're lucky.
My Pale Ale (Happy Brew Year) is just about ready so we'll be popping the caps on some of those this week. Also, Scott has another new person starting on his team this week and his department will finally be fully staffed. G has a big therapy training course Thursday-Saturday, which isn't the most exciting thing for the assessment geek that she is, but that's grad school. It's nice though that it's starting to warm up.
We'll post some pictures later of some recent adventures and good times. Until then, take care!
